- Awards - Sites that present award plaques to applicants by means of
nomination, voting, and/or judging.
- Adoptables - Sites where people may "adopt" graphics, people,
songs, etc. The list goes on!
- Blogs - Personal online journals.
- Cliques - "Cliques" are clubs or support sites that people can join
if they share an interest, belief, personal trait, or experience with the
theme of the clique.
- Collectives - These sites are made as a sort of site map, to bring
together a listing of various websites and projects created by their
respective owner.
- Domains - Domains are sites that are paid for and owned
independently. Only sites with URL extensions such as: .com, .net, .org, .co.jp,
etcetera; will be listed under this category.
- Exchanges - Button or banner exchanges allow for member sites to
have their button or banner rotate on each member's site to gain more traffic
to their websites.
- Fanlistings/Fansites - Fanlistings are comprised of fans that come
together and put themselves on a list, with other fans, to show their love for
that subject! Fansites might do that too, except they have more content
(photos, information, downloads, etc).
- Forums - Message boards.
- Graphics/Layouts - Sites that offer layouts, graphics, and/or
webdesign for free or upon order from the site owner or staff.
- Personals - Domains or webpages that serve as a sort of extension
of the owner. These sites may contain photos of him or herself, their own
writings and journaling, art, etc. These sites are all about the owner.
- Portfolios - Promotional websites that comprise the works of their
owners. Such portfolios might include photography, artwork, modeling, or
poetry.
- Reviews - Sites that review movies, music, world news, and even
other websites for a rating!
- RPG's - Websites for roleplaying games; either text-based or live
action (larp).
- Topsites - Sites listing the top 10, 20, 30, 100, etc; bringing
hits in and out of the list.
- Webcomics - Comics that are published online, by means of subscription and/or open-viewing!
- Webrings - Site listings that bring together other sites of a
common theme with a ring-surfing code that usually looks like this: « #
webring ? »
- Webzines - Online magazines of any range of subjects. They are
similar to the design and content as a magazine you would find on store racks,
only they are in website-form.
- Writings - Sites revolving primarily around any form of writing; be
it poetry, short stories, collections of instant messages, and other such
things.
- Portals - Webcam portal sites.
- Cosplay - Sites that showcase the cosplaying of others, or the
owner of the site. The most popular types of cosplay are anime-themed.
- Game Content - Sites for downloading custom-made game content and
add-ons.
